We went and attended the Cemetery Luminaries this year with my mom. The weather this year has been so weird. Normally there are mounts of Snow and we are dealing with mud, not this year. My mom bought Gar a cute Solar Christmas Tree and it is dang cute, I am sure Gar loves it.

Temple Square Lights 2011

It is usually a tradition to go to Temple Square as a Family and see the lights. While Nathan, Janette, and the kids were here, we decided to go. Luckily this year it wasn't too cold and there was no snow on the ground.

Max was sleeping when we got to the Temple, so he wasn't his happy self since we had to wake him up. Nathan pretty much carried him the whole time.

While we were all watching the Nativity being played outside, my dad went and sat down. Max worked his way over to him and just stayed by his side.

Love these next few pictures... Janette wanted a picture with all 3 kids standing next to the Christus. Max didn't want a picture with Hannah and Julia, he wanted his own picture. When it was his turn, he walked over with his hood on, shoulders slumped, head down, and this was his face for the picture :) It seriously looked like we were forcing him to take this picture, everyone around just laughed.

We celebrated Julia's Birthday a few days early because they would be back in Colorado on her actual birthday. For her birthday, she wanted go bowling. It is always fun to go bowling with kids.

Thanksgiving 2011

For Thanksgiving, we went out to Tooele and did Thanksgiving with Colby's Dad and Siblings. We actually woke up quite early and headed out there. We got there before everyone showed up for the feast. We watched the movie Super 8, I can't say I was in love with it, I liked ET Better :)

My cute driver..I am grateful when me and Colby have the opportunity to drive out there, it just gives us time to talk and to be together.

If I was a morning person I would get to see these beautiful sunsets every morning, but I'm not. But I was grateful I got to see one on Thanksgiving morning!

Colby's dad bought this remote control shark, it was huge. They would just fly it around inside the house and Colby would talk as if he were the shark, it was pretty funny!

I love when I get to see my dad with his siblings...and of course he is demonstrating his headphones and music with his brother Rick.

After everyone had left, we decided we would go and do some Black Friday shopping. We never go with the intent of buying anything, it is just fun to go and watch the crazy people. This year we went with Nathan, Janette, and dragged mom with us. :)

Okay, Walmart was insane. Colby ended up dropping us off at the front and left to go find parking.

Me and Nathan went straight to the movies, that always seems to be the popular place and movies are flying through the air, there all over the ground and your stepping on them. I was watching a guy taking a cart in there and kept running into a lady and she turned around and was like, "If you hit me one more time..." So Funny! We both walked away with Blu Ray Movies, so we scored.

So Walmart had sells that started at 10pm, then 11pm, then 12am, so you would have to wait around for them. This lady sitting down in this picture was addressing her Christmas Cards and writing in them...I seriously just laughed, I don't even know how she focused.

We all got separated and it was hard to call since everyone was using their cell phones, luckily I found Nathan and we just stayed put till we could locate everyone.

We pulled up to Target, the line went all they to the back to almost the front again. We had to wait like 45 minutes and since we were so far back in line, we didn't expect to get anything. Luckily it wasn't too cold, but we finally made it in....again, we found what we came for. Walked away with a CrockPot and Playstation 3. Till next Black Friday....

Nathan, Janette, and the kids came back to Utah in November to visit. They were here a whole week, and we made sure to take advantage of spending as much time as we could with them. One afternoon, Nathan was having lunch with a friend, Janette was with her friends, and my dad had a dentist appointment, so me and Colby took the kids to Mc.Donalds and to the playground I work at to play.

I must say it was a lot of fun driving around with kids in the back.

I LOVED our Halloween Costumes this year. They were simple, easy, and everyone knew who we were.

Gar's 26th Birthday

Gar turned 26 on October 28. My mom and dad ended up going to St. George because my Grandpa Erskine was not doing well, and with Nathan, Janette, and kids in Colorado, it was just me and Colby. We weren't going to go at first, but I felt I needed to.

We got to the cemetery and there was a pumpkin there that my Grandma Childs had left for him.

I had the day off, and I spent most of time making a homemade Rubik's Cube for his birthday!

I had taken pictures and cut them and glued them, it wasn't my best job, but I am sure Gar appreciated it.

I have to laugh at this picture. I forgot to get Gar a balloon, luckily they guy next to him was also or had celebrated a birthday, so I borrowed the balloon for a picture :)

Colby was really interested with the Rubik's Cube on the head stone!

We couldn't get the Rubik's Cube to sit at an angle, so Colby came up with a plan and started carving into the pumpkin.

Colorado Day 3

On day 3 in Colorado, Hannah's school was having a fundraiser, so we went to support it.

They had a little petting zoo, there was a donkey, goats, sheep, and bunnies.

They had a little carriage ride, Max and Julia went together.

Hannah went by herself, she had a big grin on her face, like she was a princess!

They had pumpkin bowling, my dad set up all the pins perfectly for Max.

At the end of corn maze, my dad was hiding around the corner and would jump out and scare the kids. They would do the maze over and over again, even kids who were strangers asked my dad to scare them.

So when we were at Beau Jo's waiting patiently to be seated, they said they felt bad for the wait and told us we could be pick any 2 appetizers to eat while we waited. One was Artichoke Dip, my whole life I thought Artichoke Dip was little chicken hearts. Janette and everyone had a great laugh (as I'm sure you all are doing). Janette decided to make it just for me, so I could try it.

It wasn't that bad, but I am not going to say it is one of my favorites either :)

The last night there, Janette put curls in me and Hannah's hair!

Our hair was very curly the next morning! I loved having curly hair with Hannah!

Colorado Day 2

Day Two in Colorado was Fun and Busy! It is hard to pick which pictures to use...so I used most of them:)

My dad was such a good sport and let the kids tackle him.

Dad asked Max if he wanted to play 52 Card Pick Up? Of course Max wanted to, not knowing what the game even was. My dad put him in position and....

flipped all the cards at him. Max just laughed and wanted to do it again, my dad then told him he had to pick up the cards...that part wasn't as fun!

My mom bought the kids little Halloween Pumpkin Bubbles. Again, it was such a nice day, so we went and played out side of the apartment.

Colby had given me 9TH Root shirts to give to the kids, so one day we all wore them...the girls even wanted Maggie Hair, which consists of pigtails and a headband!

Before we had lunch in Old Town, they took us to this Awesome Place called Swetsville Zoo! This guy has 150 dinosaurs and other real and imaginary animals, flowers, and windmills -- all constructed from car parts, farm machinery, and other scrap metal.

While walking around, this guy from a magic shop invited us to see a few demonstrations. He had these cool foam boomerangs, so I bought one each for the kids.

They have all these piano's that you can just sit at and play a tune, and they are all painted differently.

After, we went back to the apartment and made carmel apples!

After, we met up with my Aunt Polly, Uncle Dave, and my grandparents who also happened to be in Colorado. We went and showed them Nathan and Janette's house, then we went back to Old Town for dinner. We decided to eat at a place called Beau Jo's Pizza. We waited forever to be seated, we were starving by the time we got to our table, but it was still good.

To finish the night off, we went to Otter Box to see where Nathan works! I must say it is pretty sweet place!

First Day Visit To Colorado

When Nathan, Janette, and the kids moved to Colorado, we were already looking at our schedules and figuring out when we could go to Colorado. We found a week in October where it was Fall Break for me, Hannah had it off of school, and my dad was over in Colorado for an Audio Show.

Since my dad was already over there, me and my mom flew over there and would drive back with him. Sadly, Colby had to work and couldn't come. I had never been on a plane with my mom, so I was excited. Colby drove us to the Airport at the crack of dawn, so early. My mom gets motion sickness really really easy, so it was humoras for me to watch here, but she made it.

Walking in and seeing those kids was the best. I immediately took some pictures and sent them off to Colby.

We went to the park down the street from their apartment. It was beautiful weather and a great day to play outside.

It is so nice to have Saturday's off! I wanted to drive up the canyon and take some fall pictures, Colby is always a great sport about this kind of stuff and always makes it a fun adventure for us.

Super Saturday!!!

I was going to be in Colorado during my Super Saturday, so I signed up to do a couple of things at my mom's ward. It is always fun to go back to the ward I grew up and see people I know, that know me so well!

Mom learned how to make different kinds of chocolates!

I wish I could say mine looked like this, but I still have not finished it...one day :)

Then we made a prophet book for kids, such a neat idea. I did finish this one!

Happy 29th Birthday Superman!

Colby turned the big 29 on October 2nd! I am so grateful for Colby in my life, even though our age keeps going up, we keep each other young! He is the best and he is my Superman!

When he went to bed Saturday night, I stayed up for a few hours decorating the downstairs with the cats.

It made it a challenge to walk through, but we got good at bending :)

I made him wait to see it so I could get a picture!

After watching General Conference, we headed to my parents house for our traditional Thanksgiving Turkey Meal!

My cute grandparents came out to help celebrate and I am sure to partake in the good food!

This isn't that great of a picture of everyone, but everyone was to busy eating.

We missed Nathan, Janette, and the kids being there, but I made sure to take a picture of the what Nathan was missing...the gravy...it is his favorite.

Grandma and Colby

This picture doesn't have anything to do with Colby's birthday, but I wanted to mention it because it was taken on Colby's birthday. My dad served his mission in Norway. While he was there, he taught a family of a little girl who was 3 at the time. To this day, she still remembers him playing with her as a kid. Well, she was in America and wanted to visit. My dad had all his slides from his mission that my grandpa brought out and a slide projector so they could show her. Isn't it amazing the impact you can have on a person after all these years. The picture below is her, her name is Lillian.

I know I have said this before, but I love, love technology! Even though Nathan, Janette, and the kids couldn't be there in person, we could do Face Time with them, which is second best! The kids helped sing to him and blow out his candles.

Colby's Birthday Part 1

Since Colby's Birthday usually falls on Conference Weekend, we always celebrate a few days early! This year for his birthday dinner, he wanted to go to Tepanyaki in Lehi. It is always a fun place to go.

We had the head cook, and he was awesome....very entertaining. He even managed to throw the salt or pepper shaker at Amber's drink and knock it over on her...very impressive :)

Trying to figure out what to order so we could use our coupons....side note: the coupons didn't seem to work for anything that they told us they would work for...good thing the entertainment was good.

My great parents came and helped celebrate!

Roy chugging down something...I refused to do it, but Colby, my dad, Roy, and Drue were good sports and it was hilarious to watch!

For Colby's birthday activity he wanted to go to the Provo Asylum. For weeks I was nervous about this, I hate scary things and everyone wished me luck. First of all, this was the most lame thing we have ever been to. It was in the parking garage under the Provo Town Center Mall. There were hardly any workers and the workers that were supposed to scare us, just stared at us! I guess we all have to experience something lame!

Colby and Drue were scared, but Roy handled it like a man!

At the end of the "Scary Asylum" we had a coupon for a free ride. This ride consisted of Colby getting in a Coffin in the dark and listening to a story. We got to stay outside and watch him, he was all smiles.

At least we had a great laugh together...good memories!

A busy St. George Weekend....

Before Nathan and Janette even moved my mom had bought us girls tickets to see the The Little Mermaid down at Tuachan. So Nathan and Janette planned on coming back for a week. Me and Colby actually picked Nathan up from the Airport in Provo, it was nice to just visit with him for the 4 hour ride, even though he felt sick. I love listening to Nathan and Colby just talk to each other.

The first morning when we all woke up, we headed to the pool. We always seem lucky have it all to ourselves!

It was so fun to be with the kids again! A month doesn't seem very long, but it is!

We left the boys for the night to defend for themselves. Us girls went to my favorite...Pasta Factory and headed to the Little Mermaid. It was perfect weather and it was an amazing show!

At one part, there is Beatle's Themed Song and Picture of the band...it was only fitting we get a picture with it.

They Are Back!

Today Colby was made First Counselor in the Bishopric, it was a special day!

And...the kids with Janette were back for the week! It was just an Awesome Day all around!

My favorite is when Max saw Colby, he ran and gave him a hug and Max says, "I missed you Colby!" It was pretty dang cute!

While Janette took Nathan to the Airport to go back to Colorado, dad pulled this out from the deck for the kids to play with. We tied a rope to it and made it really fun!

Computer Surgery

Our computer had been running really slow, to where I couldn't upload pictures to do our blog...that is why I am way behind...okay not really, but it could be a good reason.

Luckily I have Colby is a cute geek and watched a video on You Tube to learn how to replace the hard drive, it was a scary thing to watch, but it came out of surgery working even better! :)

Remembering 9/11

Me and my mom had gone to the Scrapbook Expo that morning and after eating at Crown Burger we we went and saw all the flags in Sandy at the Healing Field, it is by Target and the Mall. It was an amazing sight to see, I know they do this every year, but this was my first time going.

A Flag for each person who lost their lives that day!

This was new this year, it was the " Hope Rising Bronze Monument"

Such a neat thing to see!

Each flag represented a victim and it told of their life and where they were that morning! It was heartbreaking to read these stories and just gave me the chills.

I am so grateful for the men and women who continue to sacrifice their time and own lives for this great land! Thank You!

Dad's Summer Projects

Well, a new chapter happened in our lives again...Colby told me we had a meeting with a counselor from the Stake Presidency and I was to meet Colby at the Stake Center after work. Colby got called to be the first counselor in the Bishopric.

I am still in Awe by Colby, he amazes me everyday and I feel so lucky to be married to him!

Swiss Days

One night while working at Contacts the night team was happily working when the Fire Alarms went off! Someone triggered something, there was no fire, but they would not turn off. Just to make sure though and besides it being really loud and annoying we got to go outside! It was a nice 30 minute break or so!

Fear Factor Contacts Style

At work (1-800 Contacts) the Rx Department decided to have a Fear Factor Challenge for the week. One of the challenges was to stick your feet in a garbage can full of ice for 5 minutes! Sure, I'll do it, why not, it can't be that bad....

After moving Nathan and Janette this summer, me and Colby thought we should clean and dejunk our basement. We know we have a lot of crap we don't need, but just keep because we can. We spent one WHOLE SATURDAY cleaning the basement!

St. George Visit

We hadn't been to St. George for awhile, so we thought we should go down for the weekend and see his family. Sadly, we didn't get to spend much time with the Lisa's kids because it was their dad's weekend with them.

It was Lisa's birthday that weekend, so we went and had her birthday dinner at Texas Roadhouse!

Yes, we made Lisa sit in the Saddle while we sang to her, she was so excited!

Later that night before we headed back to Stan's Condo, we just went and hung out by Dixie Rock on the side of the Road. Summers are nice in St. George because you don't have lame mosquitos like we do up North.

I loved this night! We sat there just looking over the city just talking about everything and where we started in life together and where we are right now with our lives and how Heavenly Father has defiantly been our little tour guide! After 6 years of marriage, it is so nice to know we still can just talk forever and for it to never get old. I am so grateful for Colby!

The next day, we woke up early! We were heading to Zion's with Lisa, Jeremy, and Colby's Mom. Lisa wanted to go there for her birthday and I must say it was a great choice. I love going to Zion's, I love being out in nature, away from the day to day stuff!

While in St. George, we went shoe shopping for me because I forgot to pack hiking shoes (no it was not on purpose) looking around we came across the coolest shoes ever...Skeletoes! You can do anything in these shoes, we highly recommend them!

After Zion's we had planned hanging out with my cousin Lindsey. My mom and dad were staying in St. George overnight because they were heading to Las Vegas the following day for my mom's birthday. So I got a phone call from my my mom saying they with my aunt Karen, Robyn were going to Mesquite and invited us to go with them. So we asked Lindsey if she was game and she said yes. So we all met up and headed to Mesquite!

Celebrating Mom's Birthday

August was kind of crazy month. With Nathan, Janette, and the kids moving to Colorado and us planning a trip to St. George, we decided to celebrate mom's birthday a few days early. We took mom to Los Hermanos.

Julia had fallen asleep when we got here. She didn't want anything to eat at all, waking up a little grumpy. Colby being very sly put a chip in front of her with a thing of Salsa and was just like I am going to leave this here for you, nobody is going to watch you and slowly she was eating chip after chip, he is so good with these kids.

We always make sure Mom gets sung too for her birthday...we really just want the free ice cream :)

After dinner we went out side and did presents!

I made a book for mom of all our Disneyland and Beach Pictures!

I'm not going to lie, I had to say goodbye to these kids and it was hard. I knew I would be seeing them in a month so that helped!

After dinner, me and Colby headed to St. George and there was the most beautiful Sunset!

We love doing Face Time! We did a lot of face time with Nathan while he was in Colorado. I am so grateful I live in this time with the technology we have, it is incredible!

Slurpee's, Mower, And a Tent

One weekend in July, Janette left to go to Colorado to be with Nathan and figure out their house stuff, so we got to hang out with the kids. For a couple of weeks prior I told the kids we could go get Slurpee's, I have got them addicted to them :) I kept true to my word and we went and got Slurpee's and hung outside on the grass to enjoy them!

Colby was too cool for a Slurpee, he got his Diet Mountain Dew instead!

Before we set up the tent, dad wanted to mow the grass. Each of the kids took turns helping grandpa, Max is not a big fan of the loud noise, but grandpa let him listen to music on is ipod.

Then it was time to set the tent up to have a sleepover in it. Max helping Colby hammer!

Hannah fell asleep right away, it took Julia a little bit longer, and then there was Max. He just wanted to talk and ask questions, he was trying so hard to stay awake, but he finally managed to conk out!

Colby wanted to sleep on the outside of the tent. He is all wrapped up in a memory foam pad, the best part is when it started to rain.

When Max woke up, he was a little out of it. He was in the tent and said he needed to go find his clothes, then he came out on the deck and he looked like he was going to walk right off of it, but Colby ran over there and grabbed him and just held him.

Hannah Loses First Tooth

I am always grateful that I get to be a part of Hannah, Julia's, and Max's life. Nathan was in Colorado and did face time with us so he could see Hannah lose her first tooth because Grandpa was going to pull it out. Technology is also amazing, which I am very grateful for!

New Mattress/ Up House/ Lehi Foam Day

Janette had invited me to to with her and the kids to the Lehi Foam Days. It started later then we thought, so we ended up to going to RC Willey and looking for a mattress for her and Nathan.

Well, she found one! Her mom was also there so we loaded up the mattress and mattress springs on top of their cars. It always makes it a fun drive :)

But before we drove them back to the house, I wanted to see the Up House and Janette's mom knew where it was so headed there!

Parade of Homes hadn't started yet, so we could only visit the outside of it, but it was Amazing and so fun to look at!

Stan's Pool/ Draper Days

My dad's good friend Stan let us use his swimming pool at his house. We always enjoy going and have a lot of fun. Nathan sadly was in Colorado starting his new job!

I watched the kids for a few hours while Janette went to Parade of Homes with her mom. I found some clay that I have had forever. I let the kids play with it and they loved making stuff with it.

I made this and had the kids take a picture with it!

Then I changed it to dad and sent the picture to Nathan, who was in Colorado with his new job.

Janette invited me to go to with her and the kids to 7 Eleven to get free slurpee's, plus it was Max's birthday! It was really fun!

Fourth of July 2011

I know I am behind, but I determined to catch up! 4th of July is always a nice day off. We did what most American's do, eat a barbeque and watch fireworks. We did manage to throw in a water fight with the kids, it wasn't too hot, but we managed to have lots of fun!

I wasn't planning on getting wet, but that changed quickly. The kids were prepared with swimming suits! My mom bought these huge water guns for the kids to play, I had to steal one to defend myself .

Max got the hang of it really quick!

I love these next two pictures, Hannah started chasing me. I would always run into the street because she didn't have shoes on.....

By the time our water fight was over, I was drenched. I put my clothes in my parents dryer to dry and in the meantime wore some of my mom clothes!

On July 3rd we went out to Tooele after church to visit with Colby's family. Lisa was up here with the older kids. It was nice to see everyone and to just hang out.

3 Years...

July 2nd marked three years that Gar has been gone. It still feels like it just happened, but I feel like he has been a part of everything still, I just can't see him. My parents Bishop who was there that day he passed away met with my parents the other week to renew their Temple Recommends and he told them that he had a very strong impression that Gar is doing great and is really happy...I totally believe him and gives me peace to know that!

My mom found this picture a while ago and gave it to me, it is one I have hanging up on my magnet board. I cherish that hug!

Before we went to the cemetery, we went and ate at Hires Big H, hamburger was great...not so much the fries! Nathan has also got in late the night before driving from Colorado (new job), so it was nice to have him there!

Gar and Great Grandma always get the Royal treatment from dad! They seriously have the nicest looking headstones!

Dad brought stuff for the kids to clean the headstones with, they loved it and did a great job!

Julia started Tee Ball this year and I have been able to go to a few games. All these pictures are from different games, but I put them in one post. Julia is a good little player, she can hit the ball and she knows it.

I love how distracted they get...Julia is the only one focused!

Visting Grandma and Grandpa Childs

A few weeks ago me and Janette took the kids to visit Grandma and Grandpa Childs. My Grandma a few weeks before that had fallen/tripped and broke her shoulder and had to have surgery. I had called her and let her know we wanted to come visit, she was very excited and asked if I could also help wash her sheets and make her bed..of course I said yes, it was the least I could do. We got there and they had already washed the sheets, but I made the bed. Julia wanted to help and so she helped me put on the pillowcases on the pillows. We just hung out with them outside on the patio and talked. We ate some lunch we had brought and played with some toys they had out in the shed.

I pulled out my Iphone and played with my IBooth photo app, wanted to show Grandma and Grandpa all the FUN they could have with one of these :)

The kids also enjoyed it!

I always enjoy being at my grandparents house, there are so many memories of all the sleepovers we had at their house as kids, mowing the lawn, weeding, picking up acorns, playing with the toys over the power lines :), barbeques, riding bikes, Christmas Eve, and family parties!

Being Goofballs

Every time the kids leave my parents house, my dad has a candy drawer and they get to pick out candy they want to take home. Well when we were leaving their house, my Grandma pulls out different candy for the kids....know we know where my dad gets it :) The kids loved it!
